About us
Two engineers, three kids, thirteen years in the United States. We came home under the Beckham regime, then built the site we wished had existed.
Beckham Law Agency is a platform run by Javier and Yolanda. It tells you whether Spain’s impatriate regime applies to you, what your deadline is and what it is worth, and then connects you with an independent professional who quotes a fixed fee. This page says plainly who is behind it and what it is not.
Who we are
We are Javier and Yolanda, a couple from Barcelona, both computer engineers. In 2012 we moved to the United States for work. What was meant to be a few years turned into thirteen: we became American citizens along the way, and our three children were born there.
We have both worked remotely from home for years, and our whole family stayed in Spain. Every visit made the same question louder: why are we raising three kids an ocean away from their grandparents when our jobs travel with us? In 2025 we answered it. We packed up and moved back, kids, jobs and all, and today we keep working remotely from Spain under the Beckham regime.
How this started
Yolanda came with her job at an American company; I came with her as her spouse, and we opted into the regime as a family. Nothing about it was complicated in principle, and almost everything about it was confusing in practice: which date the six-month clock counts from, what the Modelo 149 actually asks, which forum answer to believe. And because we are American citizens as well as Spanish, there was a second half nobody in Spain wanted to touch: the IRS does not stop caring because you left.
We got it done, and we kept the notes. Those notes became the diagnosis, the savings calculator and the deadline calculator on this site. They ask the questions we wish someone had asked us on day one.
Why we do this
We know what it is like to want to come home and not be sure the numbers work, and what it is like to want to try Spain and not know where to start. We built this for the people we were in 2024: expats moving back, Americans and Europeans coming to Spain for the first time, remote workers whose employer stays abroad. If the regime fits you, the tools will say so and a professional will quote you a fixed fee. If it does not fit, the tools will say that too.
What the site does
Everything here is free to use and runs in your browser. Three things in particular:
- A rules-based diagnosis: about ten questions, then a verdict, your Modelo 149 deadline, an estimate of what the regime is worth to you and the points a professional would want to check.
- Calculators for the savings by region and for the exact filing deadline, built on the published tax scales and the regulation.
- A matching request: if you want help, we reply within two business days with the next steps, and an independent registered lawyer or tax advisor will send you a fixed quote.
What it is not
- It is not a law firm: the legal and tax work will be done by the registered professional who takes your case. The diagnosis and calculators are general information.
- It does not charge you. The professional who takes your case contracts with you and invoices you directly. We receive no payment from you for the introduction.
- It does not guarantee outcomes. The regime is an option granted by the tax agency under strict requirements, and no one can promise it.
- It sets no advertising cookies unless you accept them: the Google Ads cookies, used only to measure whether our ads lead to enquiries, stay off until you click “Accept”. Audience measurement is anonymous, aggregated and cookieless.
The professionals
The filing will be done by an independent lawyer or tax advisor registered in Spain, who will answer for the work under their own professional rules and insurance. We look for that professional once we have reviewed your case.
